Dear Members and Friends of Armadale Parish Church,

With great sadness, I must share with you that all services and meetings at the church and halls are cancelled until further notice due to concerns over the spread of COVID-19. The Church of Scotland has strongly asked every parish to take this path to do our part in slowing its progress and we, because we are called to care for each other and for our community, will be doing so.

Being together for worship is an important part of who we are as the Body of Christ. Though we will not be able to do so for a short while, this will not last forever. In the meantime, both Radio 4 and Radio Scotland broadcast services. We do not have the capacity to do live streaming, but hope to have some manner of communication worked out soon.

Our Church of Scotland Moderator, the Right Reverend Colin Sinclair, has, along with the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, and other church leaders, issued a call for a National Day of Prayer; you can find more details about that here.

I will update you on other things as they develop. Until then, please do not hesitate to contact me or your elder with any concerns or questions you have about what we can do.

Peace,

Julia

Dedications for Service to Church

On 3 November 2019 our worship was dedicated to those in our Church family who had given much of their lives to the service of our Church.

It was with much sadness and grateful thanks that Julia presented Elsie and Grace with a token of the Congregation’s gratitude for their dedication and service on their retiral as Session Clerk and Deputy Session Clerk.

Julia was also delighted to present long service Certificates to Christine McAllister, Andy McAllister and John Stein for 30 years service as an Elder. Julia also presented Walter Gowans with a Certificate for 50 years as a serving Elder. In their absence, Certificates were also presented to Gwen Carse, Hazel Forrester, and posthumously, to Sam Stein for 30 years service as Elders. A certificate was also awarded to Bob Carse for 60 years service as an Elder.
