Members and friends of Armadale Parish Church gathered at the Masonic Hall for a wonderful Scottish themed concert. Gavin MacDonald was our MC for the evening and entertained us with his excellent singing and humour.

Rebecca Hislop and Julia Wiley sang a selection of traditional songs which were beautifully performed.

Two talented young ladies, Hannah and Ashley Stewart brought a breath of fresh air to the show playing fiddle, guitar and piano. They treated us to a selection of traditional and modern music and song.

Margaret Hadden had everyone in stitches with her tales of her mischievous son Clint while Magnus Brown sang two very passionate, rousing Scottish rugby songs. Some of the songs were accompanied by Ross Brodie on his electric piano but Ross also showed his wonderful talent during his solo spot by playing some beautiful tunes to the delight of the audience.

The Beechgrove Garden Choir sang for us and the audience were happy to join in with the chorus.

We were refreshed at the interval with soup and stovies from TeeJays and a cup of tea with shortbread, truffles and dumpling. Craig Williamson proved himself a wonderful magician by performing a variety of tricks during the interval. Hoots of laughter could be heard as some were trying to work out how the tricks were done !

Altogether a great night's entertainment by a variety of very talented local people.

The magnificent sum of £692 was raised plus £253 from our Scottish Trivia Quiz sheet and £240 which was presented to the Fundraising Group by Mr W Veitch on behalf of Blackridge Masonic Lodge.

The Fundraising group are delighted with this final amount and hope we can repeat a similar concert at a later date.
