1. MP 162 From heaven you came

    1. From heaven You came, helpless babe,
      entered our world, Your glory veiled,
      not to be served but to serve,
      and give Your life that we might live.

      This is our God, the Servant King,
      He calls us now to follow Him,
      to bring our lives as a daily offering
      of worship to the Servant King.

    2. There in the garden of tears
      my heavy load He chose to bear;
      His heart with sorrow was torn,
      ‘Yet not my will but yours,’ He said.

      This is our God, the Servant King,
      He calls us now to follow Him,
      to bring our lives as a daily offering
      of worship to the Servant King.

    3. Come see His hands and His feet,
      the scars that speak of sacrifice,
      hands that flung stars into space
      to cruel nails surrendered.

      This is our God, the Servant King,
      He calls us now to follow Him,
      to bring our lives as a daily offering
      of worship to the Servant King.

    4. So let us learn how to serve
      and in our lives enthrone Him,
      each other’s needs to prefer,
      for it is Christ we’re serving.

      This is our God, the Servant King,
      He calls us now to follow Him,
      to bring our lives as a daily offering
      of worship to the Servant King.

  2. MP 674

    1. There is a green hill far away
      without a city wall,
      where the dear Lord was crucified,
      who died to save us all.

    2. We may not know, we cannot tell
      what pains He had to bear;
      but we believe it was for us
      He hung and suffered there.

    3. He died that we might be forgiven,
      He died to make us good,
      that we might go at last to heaven,
      saved by His precious blood.

    4. There was no other good enough
      to pay the price of sin;
      He only could unlock the gate
      of heaven, and let us in.

    5. O dearly, dearly has He loved,
      and we must love Him too,
      and trust in His redeeming blood,
      and try His works to do.

  3. MP 755

    1. When I survey the wondrous cross
      on which the Prince of glory died,
      my richest gain I count but loss,
      and pour contempt on all my pride.

    2. Forbid it, Lord, that I should boast,
      save in the death of Christ my God:
      all the vain things that charm me most,
      I sacrifice them to His blood.

    3. See from His head, His hands, His feet,
      sorrow and love flow mingled down:
      did e’er such love and sorrow meet,
      or thorns compose so rich a crown?

    4. Were the whole realm of nature mine,
      that were an offering far too small,
      love so amazing, so divine,
      demands my soul, my life, my all.

  4. MP 465

    1. Meekness and majesty,
      manhood and deity,
      in perfect harmony,
      the man who is God:
      Lord of eternity
      dwells in humanity,
      kneels in humility
      and washes our feet.

      O what a mystery,
      meekness and majesty:
      bow down and worship,
      for this is your God,
      this is your God!

    2. Father’s pure radiance,
      perfect in innocence,
      yet learns obedience
      to death on a cross:
      suffering to give us life,
      conquering through sacrifice;
      and, as they crucify,
      prays, ‘Father, forgive.’

      O what a mystery,
      meekness and majesty:
      bow down and worship,
      for this is your God,
      this is your God!

    3. Wisdom unsearchable,
      God the invisible,
      Love indestructible
      in frailty appears.
      Lord of infinity;
      stooping so tenderly,
      lifts our humanity
      to the heights of His throne.

      O what a mystery,
      meekness and majesty:
      bow down and worship,
      for this is your God,
      this is your God!

  5. MP 453

    1. Low in the grave He lay,
      Jesus, my Saviour;
      waiting the coming day,
      Jesus, my Lord.

      Up from the grave He arose,
      with a mighty triumph o’er His foes;
      He arose a victor from the dark domain,
      and He lives for ever with His saints to reign:
      He arose! He arose! Hallelujah! Christ arose!

    2. Vainly they watch His bed,
      Jesus, my Saviour;
      vainly they seal the dead,
      Jesus, my Lord.

      Up from the grave He arose,
      with a mighty triumph o’er His foes;
      He arose a victor from the dark domain,
      and He lives for ever with His saints to reign:
      He arose! He arose! Hallelujah! Christ arose!

    3. Death cannot keep his prey,
      Jesus, my Saviour,
      He tore the bars away,
      Jesus, my Lord.

      Up from the grave He arose,
      with a mighty triumph o’er His foes;
      He arose a victor from the dark domain,
      and He lives for ever with His saints to reign:
      He arose! He arose! Hallelujah! Christ arose!

  6. MP 708

    1. To God be the glory!
      great things He hath done;
      so loved He the world
      that He gave us His Son;
      who yielded His life
      an atonement for sin,
      and opened the life gate
      that all may go in.

      Praise the Lord, praise the Lord!
      let the earth hear His voice;
      praise the Lord, praise the Lord!
      let the people rejoice:
      O come to the Father,
      through Jesus the Son
      and give Him the glory;
      great things He hath done!

    2. O perfect redemption,
      the purchase of blood!
      to every believer the promise of God;
      the vilest offender who truly believes,
      that moment from Jesus
      a pardon receives.
      Praise the Lord ...

      Praise the Lord, praise the Lord!
      let the earth hear His voice;
      praise the Lord, praise the Lord!
      let the people rejoice:
      O come to the Father,
      through Jesus the Son
      and give Him the glory;
      great things He hath done!

    3. Great things He hath taught us,
      great things He hath done,
      and great our rejoicing
      through Jesus the Son;
      but purer, and higher,
      and greater will be
      our wonder, our rapture,
      when Jesus we see.

      Praise the Lord, praise the Lord!
      let the earth hear His voice;
      praise the Lord, praise the Lord!
      let the people rejoice:
      O come to the Father,
      through Jesus the Son
      and give Him the glory;
      great things He hath done!
