1. Welcome and Intimations

  2. Prayer and Lord’s Prayer

    Our Father, who art in heaven,
    hallowed be thy name;
    thy kingdom come;
    thy will be done;
    on earth as it is in heaven.
    Give us this day our daily bread.
    And forgive us our trespasses,
    as we forgive those who trespass against us.
    And lead us not into temptation;
    but deliver us from evil.
    For thine is the kingdom,
    the power, and the glory
    for ever and ever.

  3. CH4 622 We Sing a Love

    1. We sing a love that sets all people free,
      that blows like wind, that burns like scorching flame,
      enfolds like earth, springs up like water clear:
      come, living love, live in our hearts today.

    2. We sing a love that seeks another’s good,
      that longs to serve and not to count the cost,
      a love that, yielding, finds itself made new:
      come, caring love, live in our hearts today.

    3. We sing a love, unflinching, unafraid
      to be itself, despite another’s wrath,
      a love that stands alone and undismayed:
      come, strengthening love, live in our hearts today.

    4. We sing a love, that, wandering, will not rest
      until it finds its way, its home, its source,
      through joy and sadness pressing on refreshed:
      come, pilgrim love, live in our hearts today.

    5. We sing a burning, fiery, Holy Ghost
      that seeks out shades of ancient bitterness,
      transfiguring these, as Christ in every heart:
      come joyful love, live in our hearts today.

  5. CH4 601 Look Upon Us, Blessed Lord

    1. Look upon us, blessèd Lord,
      Take our wandering thoughts and guide us;
      We have come to hear your Word,
      With your teaching now provide us,
      That, from earth’s distractions turning,
      We your message may be learning.

    2. For your Spirit’s radiance bright
      We, assembled here, are hoping;
      When we live without your light,
      In the dark our souls were groping:
      In word, deed, and thought direct us:
      Only you, Lord, can correct us.

    3. Brightness of the Father’s face,
      Light of light, from God proceeding,
      Make us ready in this place;
      Ear and heart await your leading.
      In our studies, prayer, and praising,
      May our souls find their upraising.

  7. CH4 524 Jesus Christ, Our Living Lord

    1. Jesus Christ, our living Lord,
      we believe you keep your word.
      Whatever may befall us,
      stretch or stall us,
      we’ll trust your voice to call us.

    2. In the humblest things we do,
      we’ll account ourselves to you,
      making your love our measure,
      truth and treasure;
      your will our joy and pleasure.

    3. Food enough that all may feed,
      grace enough for each one’s need:
      here as we praise you, singing,
      you come bringing
      gifts at the day’s beginning.

    4. Lord in all we do today,
      let our lives prepare your way.
      May peace and love befriend us
      and defend us
      where you require and send us.

  10. CH4 680 You Are Called

    1. You are called to tell the story,
      passing words of life along,
      then to blend your voice with others,
      as you sing the sacred song.
      Christ be known in all our singing,
      all with songs of love.

    2. You are called to teach the rhythm
      of the dance that never ends,
      then to move within the circle,
      hand in hand with strangers, friends.
      Christ be known in all our dancing,
      touching all with hands of love.

    3. You are called to set the table,
      blessing bread as Jesus blessed,
      then to come with thirst and hunger,
      needing care like all the rest,
      Christ be known in all our sharing,
      feeding all with signs of love.

    4. May the One whose love is broader
      than the measure of all space
      give us words to sing the story,
      move among us in this place.
      Christ be known in all our living,
      all with gifts of love.
