  2. CH4 320 Joy to the World!

    1. Joy to the world, the Lord is come!
      Let earth receive her King;
      let ev’ry heart prepare him room
      and heav’n and nature sing,
      and heav’n and nature sing,
      and heav’n, and heav’n and nature sing.

    2. Joy to the earth, the Savior reigns!
      Let men their songs employ,
      while fields and floods, rocks, hills, and plains,
      repeat the sounding joy,
      repeat the sounding joy,
      repeat, repeat the sounding joy.

    3. He rules the world with truth and grace
      and makes the nations prove
      the glories of his righteousness
      and wonders of his love,
      and wonders of his love,
      and wonders, wonders of his love.

  3. CH4 306 O Come, All Ye Faithful

    1. O come, all you faithful,
      joyful and triumphant,
      O come now, O come now to Bethlehem;
      come and behold Him,
      born the King of angels:

      O come, let us adore Him,
      O come, let us adore Him,
      O come, let us adore Him,
      Christ the Lord!

    2. God of God,
      light of light,
      Lo! he abhors not the virgin’s womb;
      Very God
      begotten not created:

      O come, let us adore Him,
      O come, let us adore Him,
      O come, let us adore Him,
      Christ the Lord!

    3. Sing choirs of angels,
      sing in exultation,
      sing all ye citizens of heaven above,
      ‘Glory to God,
      glory in the highest’:

      O come, let us adore Him,
      O come, let us adore Him,
      O come, let us adore Him,
      Christ the Lord!

    4. Yea, Lord, we greet thee,
      born this happy morning.
      Jesus, to thee be glory given!
      Word of the Father,
      Now in flesh appearing:

      O come, let us adore Him,
      O come, let us adore Him,
      O come, let us adore Him,
      Christ the Lord!

  4. Prayer

    One:
    Little Child of God, laid in a manger, …. You join our human frailty, share our needs, and assure us of utter glory. Hallelujah!

    Most Loving God, because you knew how twisted and subject to evil our humanity had become, you sent us your Holy Son

    All:
    We name him Jesus, our Saviour, for he has saved his sisters and brothers from their sins.

    One:
    Because you have given us a gracious spirit, forgiving those who sin against us, and you call us to a ministry of reconciliation in a fractured world

    All:
    We proclaim him Jesus, our Saviour, for he will save our world from its many sins.

    One:
    God of Christmas, God of unspeakable grace, ….. In the name of the One born this day who grew up to teach us to pray… LORD’S PRAYER

    FORGIVENESS

    My friends in Christ, ….. You are set free to forgive one another and to be agents of peace and joy!

    All:
    Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to all people of goodwill.

  6. CH4 316 Love Came Down at Christmas

    1. Love came down at Christmas,
      love all lovely, Love divine;
      Love was born at Christmas;
      star and angels gave the sign.

    2. Worship we the Godhead,
      Love incarnate, Love divine;
      worship we our Jesus,
      but wherewith for sacred sign?

    3. Love shall be our token;
      love be yours and love be mine;
      love to God and others,
      love for plea and gift and sign.

  7. CH4 310 See Him Lying on a Bed of Straw

    1. See Him lying on a bed of straw:
      a draughty stable with an open door;
      Mary cradling the babe she bore –
      the Prince of glory is His name.

      O now carry me to Bethlehem
      to see the Lord appear to men –
      just as poor as was the stable then,
      the Prince of glory when He came.

    2. Star of silver, sweep across the skies,
      show where Jesus in the manger lies;
      shepherds, swiftly from your stupor rise
      to see the Saviour of the world!

      O now carry me to Bethlehem
      to see the Lord appear to men –
      just as poor as was the stable then,
      the Prince of glory when He came.

    3. Angels, sing the song that you began,
      bring God’s glory to the heart of man;
      sing that Bethl’em’s little baby can
      be salvation to the soul.

      O now carry me to Bethlehem
      to see the Lord appear to men –
      just as poor as was the stable then,
      the Prince of glory when He came.

    4. Mine are riches, from Your poverty,
      from Your innocence, eternity:
      mine forgiveness by Your death for me,
      child of sorrow for my joy.

      O now carry me to Bethlehem
      to see the Lord appear to men –
      just as poor as was the stable then,
      the Prince of glory when He came.

  9. CH4 322 Good Christians, All Rejoice

    1. Good Christians, all rejoice
      with heart and soul and voice;
      now give heed to what we say:
      Jesus Christ was born today.
      Ox and ass before him bow,
      and he is in the manger now.
      Christ is born today!
      Christ is born today!

    2. Good Christians, all rejoice
      with heart and soul and voice;
      now you hear of endless bliss:
      Jesus Christ was born for this!
      He has opened heaven's door,
      and all are blest forevermore.
      Christ was born for this!
      Christ was born for this!

    3. Good Christians, all rejoice
      with heart and soul and voice;
      now you need not fear the grave:
      Jesus Christ was born to save!
      Calls you one and calls you all
      to gain his everlasting hall.
      Christ was born to save!
      Christ was born to save!

  12. CH4 294 On Christmas Night All Christians Sing

    1. On Christmas night all Christians sing,
      to hear the news the angels bring,
      on Christmas night all Christians sing,
      to hear the news the angels bring,
      news of great joy, news of great mirth,
      news of our merciful King’s birth.

    2. Then why should we on earth be so sad,
      since our Redeemer made us glad,
      then why should we on earth be so sad,
      since our Redeemer made us glad,
      when from our sin he set us free,
      all for to gain our liberty?

    3. When sin departs before his grace,
      then life and health come in its place:
      when sin departs before his grace,
      then life and health come in its place:
      heaven and earth with joy may sing,
      all for to see the new-born King.

    4. All out of darkness we have light,
      which made the angels sing this night:
      all out of darkness we have light,
      which made the angels sing this night:
      'Glory to God, on earth be peace,
      goodwill to all shall never cease.'
