Prayer and Lord’s Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name;
thy kingdom come;
thy will be done;
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation;
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
the power, and the glory
for ever and ever.
Amen.

MP 453 Low in the Grave He Lay
-
Low in the grave He lay,
Jesus, my Saviour;
waiting the coming day,
Jesus, my Lord.
Up from the grave He arose,
with a mighty triumph o’er His foes;
He arose a victor from the dark domain,
and He lives for ever with His saints to reign:
He arose! He arose! Hallelujah! Christ arose!
-
Vainly they watch His bed,
Jesus, my Saviour;
vainly they seal the dead,
Jesus, my Lord.
Up from the grave He arose,
with a mighty triumph o’er His foes;
He arose a victor from the dark domain,
and He lives for ever with His saints to reign:
He arose! He arose! Hallelujah! Christ arose!
-
Death cannot keep his prey,
Jesus, my Saviour,
He tore the bars away,
Jesus, my Lord.
Up from the grave He arose,
with a mighty triumph o’er His foes;
He arose a victor from the dark domain,
and He lives for ever with His saints to reign:
He arose! He arose! Hallelujah! Christ arose!

CH4 601 Look Upon Us, Blessed Lord
-
Look upon us, blessèd Lord,
Take our wandering thoughts and guide us;
We have come to hear your Word,
With your teaching now provide us,
That, from earth’s distractions turning,
We your message may be learning.
-
For your Spirit’s radiance bright
We, assembled here, are hoping;
When we live without your light,
In the dark our souls were groping:
In word, deed, and thought direct us:
Only you, Lord, can correct us.
-
Brightness of the Father’s face,
Light of light, from God proceeding,
Make us ready in this place;
Ear and heart await your leading.
In our studies, prayer, and praising,
May our souls find their upraising.

CH4 502 Take My Life and Let It Be
(vss. 1, 2, and 4)
-
Take my life, Lord, let it be
consecrated, glad, and free;
take my moments and my days,
let them flow in ceaseless praise.
-
Take my hands, and let them move
at the impulse of your love;
take my feet, that I may run
bearing news of Christ your Son.
-
Take my will -- your will be done,
may my will and yours be one;
take my heart -- it is your own,
it shall be your royal throne.

CH4 416 Christ is Alive! Let Christians Sing.
-
Christ is alive! Let Christians sing.
The cross stands empty to the sky.
Let streets and homes with praises ring.
Love, drowned in death, shall never die.
-
Christ is alive! No longer bound
to distant years in Palestine,
but saving, healing, here and now,
and touching every place and time.
-
In every insult, rift and war,
where color, scorn or wealth divide,
Christ suffers still, yet loves the more,
and lives, where even hope has died.
-
Women and men, in age and youth,
can feel the Spirit, hear the call,
and find the way, the life, the truth,
revealed in Jesus, freed for all.
-
Christ is alive, and comes to bring
good news to this and every age,
till earth and sky and ocean ring
with joy, with justice, love and praise.
